Last Request for percussion solo (16') 1986 Last Request was composed in 1986 for the Danish percussionist Gert Sørensen. The work, which is influenced by the violent situation in South Africa at the time, is in three movements: Drums of Freedom, Voices and Last Request. In the second movement a synthesizer is used as the only instrument, while the outer movements use only acoustic percussion instruments. The work has been is among the repertoire of several percussionists and was among the required works for performance at the Bent Lyloff International Percussion Competition in 1996.
