background:
Starting out on the punk and experimental music-scene in the 80´ties in Århus, DK. Lunding released records and played gigs with groups like: Picnic, Hunk-A, It´s my Head (DK/UK) and Encore+Grande (NL/F/DK). Later he moved on with solo-projects released on CD´s and tape and finally ended up working with sound and music in a hybrid between artistic expression and sound as a vehicle for tactile, gestural and creative output within installation-work, design and educational practice.
Originally playing guitar, bass and violin, the focus has gradually shifted towards working with the computer and software as a substitute for instruments and/or as a "soundmachine" in its own right. Anyway, the search for a personal sound and innovative compositional outlook continues.
In the 90´ties Lunding released 2 solo CD´s in Denmark with highly acclaimed material: "A Travellers Guide to Home", songs based on sounds recorded by Lunding in India and Nepal. And "Pidi & Pollik", songs based on recordings of babysounds, carefully orchestrated.
Beside working as a musician and composer, Lunding has also worked with teaching, concert-organizing and as technical coordinator for DIEM (Danish Institute for Electracoustic Music).
Lately Lundings musical work has primarely been based around sound and space, using the computer to enhance and rework field-recordings. And beside that composing chambermusic based on a variety of sources: Malawian marimba-music, danish poetry, contemporary media-policy....
In 2 major pieces of sound-art Lunding has been coorporating with the danish poet Thorkild Bjørnvig (1918).

On behalf of DIEM Lunding has developed and conducted a research-project, investigating how kids deal with computers and software as part of the musical educational program in danish schools.
Currently Lunding is engaged with releasing a second cd with the duo Lunding/Samartzis, as well as continouosly researching and developing concepts in the area: kids, computers and sound.
