Preben Holst Mogensen

I am Associate Professor at the Computer Science
Department, Aarhus University,
Denmark.
Research interests
Tools and techniques for active user involvement in system
development (participatory/cooperative design); pervasive computing;
cooperative analysis; prototyping; CSCW; object oriented approaches to
system developments. (CV).
Research projects
- PalCom - Palpable Computing - is an
integrated project in EU’s 6th Framework Programme
under the proactive initiative The Disappearing Computer in Future
and Emerging Technologies (FET), part of the Information Society
Technologies. The project aims to research and develop a new
perspective on and architecture for ambient computing denoted
palpable computing.
- WorkSPACE (Distributed Work support through
component based SPAtial Computing Environments) is a project in the
EU, FP5,
proactive initiative The Disappearing Computer. The objective of the
WorkSPACE project is to develop software components and hardware
artefacts that may be combined and integrated into augmented reality
work places, environments, and fields.
The project resulted a.o. in a spin off company, 43D ApS
- Desarte
(Computer-Supported Design of Artefacts & Spaces in Architecture
and Landscape Architecture) is an EU LTR project with the goal
to create computer support for new work environments for architects
and landscape architects. Manufaktur was
developed in this project.
- Ethnography
in Support of Aesthetic Production was a UK ESRC-funded research
project. The project used ethnographic and participatory design
techniques to inform the technical support of landscape architecture
as an example of aesthetic production.
- Centre for Multimedia project Distributed Multimedia
technologies and applications.
- The DRAGON
project was a CIT funded cooperation between Maersk Line and
Devise developing a Global Customer Service System
- The ESPRIT III EuroCODE
project. developed a shell for developing CSCW systems plus
a number of demonstrator systems.
- The DEVISE
Hypermedia project and systems. covers a hypermedia development
framework plus a number of applications for different platforms.
- The DEVISE project.
develops an environment for system development.
