The DAIMI Beowulf project:

BEOBAB

BEOBAB is the name of the pc-cluster computer at DAIMI, a so-called Beowulf computer. BEOBAB is a small cluster. It has four client nodes and a server node, each containing two Pentium III processors. It is only a baby compared to other beowulf projects. Hence the name.

The objective of the machine is to support experimental work in parallel computing and to provide computer power for large scale computations in physics, biology etc.
