This website is a presentation and documentation of my Ph.D. activities within the framework of CAVI, Centre for Advanced Visualization and Interaction,
and IMV, Institute of Information and Media Studies, at AU, University of Aarhus.

My dissertation is entitled new use of interactive technologies in spatial design, where design refers to developing of interactive technologies integrated in physical space, or developing of spatial relations using interactive technologies. In other words interactive technologies and spatiality are the purpose, the means, or both.

My dissertation is concerned with Situated Computing in the sense that it centres attention on the local situation in relation to space, place and time. Space describes the structure of the situation; place the context for action and meaning, and time the temporal extension of the situation. This means that Situated Computing is informed and shaped by the specific surroundings in which it takes part.

In my works I discus the operational properties for Situated Computing in relation to design: ways to estimate design processes, accessibility and how to identify oneself with design processes, plastic and experimental properties for design processes, ways to support experiences and innovation in design processes, how to pass on experience from design processes, and ways to assist and facilitate collaboration.

The project is funded by CIT.
