Workshop on Algebraic Complexity Theory

The main open problem in algebraic complexity theory is Valiant's Hypothesis, which states that the algebraic complexity classes VP and VNP are distinct. The intention of the workshop is to provide a forum for practitioners in the field to review the current state of affairs, and assess avenues for making progress on Valiant's Hypothesis and similar challenging problems regarding algebraic computation.

Plenary Speakers:

Manindra Agrawal,
Maurice Jansen,
Pascal Koiran,
Ketan Mulmuley,
B.V. Raghavendra Rao,
Nicolas Ressayre,
Jayalal Sarma.

Organizers:

Maurice Jansen, Peter Bro Miltersen.

Date: September 3-5, 2008.

Part of this workshop has been facilitated by the Centre for Theory in Natural Sciences.
