Weekly Schedule

Lectures take place Tuesdays and Frisdays, 10.15-12.00 in koll O2.

Unless otherwise instructed, you are expected to read the lecture notes and do as many as the exercises as you are able to before the lectures. We will then discuss any problems you may have had at the lectures. Tuesdays we will go through the main lecture note, Fridays the corresponding exercise note.

The topic of each lecture and reading material will be listed below.

Week 19Tue, May 10 Distributed Systems
Fri, May 13 Remote Method Invocation (RMI)
Week 18Tue, May 3 Creating and Modifying Databases
Fri, May 6 A Database of Multiple Alignments
Week 17Tue, April 26 Accessing Databases
Fri, April 29 Evaluating the first mandatory project.
Week 16Tue, April 19 Mandatory project 1 — the project is presented and we briefly dicuss the problems and have a short Q&A.
Fri, April 22 Cancelled, due to holiday.
Week 15Tue, April 12 Web-services
Fri, April 15 Searching NCBI — notice that this exercise note also contains a bit of a lecture on design of interfaces and a few coding tricks. It makes sense to read it, even if you do not intend to do the exercises (although this approach is, of course, not recommended).
Week 14Tue, April 5 Process management
Fri, April 8 Wrapping Clustal W exercises
