There has been some doubt about how to read articles and how to make the assigments. We have created a little guide to make things a bit more clear.
Handin 3
Hand in written report (2-3 pages) with a discussion of the pros and cons of using trace based compilation for a dynamic programming language like JavaScript. You should at least consider the following:
- Give an overview of how the technique works.
- What are the advantages and disadvantages with trace based compilation
- compared to compiling to byte code and compared to interpretation?
- Does the generated code reach a steady state? Explain this.
