Welcome to the Department of Computer Science - Daimi. We aim to help you with information that will ease your stay in Århus.
When coming from abroad, you typically arrive by plane. You probably land in either Copenhagen, Billund or Tirstrup airport. For further information about transport to Århus, please visit the Transport page.
Tirstrup is a smaller airport, but the one situated closest to Århus. When you get there you probably either take a cab or go by the airport bus to the city centre. The ride takes 45 minutes. The terminal is in front of the central train station. The bus also stops at the University upon request.
Billund Airport is situated about 120 km south of Århus and has regular flights to most European countries. When arriving at Billund, the obvious choice would be to take the airport bus to Århus. It takes approximately 1 and a half hour and leaves several times a day.
This is the largest airport in Denmark with international flights to most of the world. When arriving at Copenhagen you typically choose to continue to Århus by a connecting domestic flight or by train. The domestic flight to Tirstrup airport takes 40 minutes and the trip to Århus by train takes about 3 and a half hours.
It is recommended that accommodation is booked in advance. You may ask your host at the CS dept for help. We have listed some of the local hotels at the Accommodation page, but we would like to stress that no particular is recommended.
When staying in Århus we hope you can spare some time to experience the city and its tourist attractions. We have made a short guide to some of the city's main attractions at the Tourism page. Otherwise we suggest that you visit the official tourist site of Århus.
We hope you will enjoy your stay in Århus.
