Scientific Calculations

The goals of scientific calculations are to compute accurately and  efficiently
and to present the results in a comprehensible manner.

The area therefore includes what was formerly known as Numerical Analysis,
supplemented by Number Representation, Machine Arithmetic,
Parallel Computations, and Visualization.
