Library collection

The library collection reflects the research areas and lectures at the Computer Science Department and Department of Information and Media Studies.

Access via the library webpage to the library catalogue and electronic full text resources.

You are welcome to contact the library staff by e-mail, phone or to drop by.

Opening hours

Monday-Friday 10.00 – 15.00

Outside opening hours only keycard-holders have access to the library. Keycards can be obtained by students, guests and employees.

Swipe your keycard at the door and enter your four-digit pinnumber followed by "#" to access the library.

How to borrow

Self-service

Check in and check out is based on self-service. The self-service encounter is placed in the library.

Loan card

The Social Security Card is used as library card. Your pincode is the last four digit of your cpr no. or a pincode chosen by you. You can change your pincode under Låner/Forny.

Register as borrower

Please go to the library and be registered. Your social security card is your library card. Or fill out the application form at Ny låner and then go to the library to activate your library card.

Loan period

Loan period for books is eight weeks for scientific staff and four weeks for students. Loan periods for other types of library material (such as journals) may be shorter.

Loan from other libraries

If we don't have the material you are looking for, you are welcome to send us an e-mail or to drop by. You can also try looking up the title in www.bibliotek.dk and order it. www.bibliotek.dk covers holdings in research and public libraries in Denmark.

Also, employees and students are welcome to suggest the library to buy books for its holdings. Send an e-mail to library@daimi.au.dk.

Facilities

Study places

There are several study places inside the library. These are meant for quiet study or reading. Groups may use the tables in the hall outside the library.

Wireless Internet

There is a wireless Internet connection in, and around, the library. For further information on how to connect see instructions here.

Access to e-journals and databases

There is free access for all AU students and staff. From outside AU-campus: either by VPN - for installation see DAIMI: getting VPN or through the proxy-server at the State and University Library: by using your CPR-number and library pincode from the State and University Library for login. Computers

The library has three computers. In order to use them you must have either a Daimi or HUM login and password.

Printing and photocopying

HUM students

Printing
The name of the library -/copy machine is: byg.IT-bibliotek 10.70.3.210
Notice: it is not possible to get access to the printer by the Wireless Net

Copying
HUM users must first obtain a printcard at either the library or at the Adorno-building in Helsingforsgade. Before use, you will have to activate it at the Adorno building.

Depositing money at your print -/copy account can only take place at the Adorno building.
