Aarhus can be reached by many routes. Daily flight services connect Aarhus with
Copenhagen (flight time 25 minutes). Most visitors will arrive in the
International airport of Copenhagen and have to change to the domestic airport
to go to Tirstrup (the airport for Aarhus).
You have to clear passport control and customs in Copenhagen. You can check in
your luggage from your departure airport to Aarhus. Please note that in
Copenhagen you have to take your luggage through the customs, and you can then
deliver it to an SAS office just outside customs, and they will get it on the
domestic flight.
When you have come through the customs, walk about 50 metres left where you
will see the SAS counter. Just outside you will find the bus stop for the bus
to the domestic terminals. The bus runs continually, and the journey only takes
a few minutes. There are two stops at the domestic terminal, most likely you
will want the first stop.
You can reach Tirstrup from several destinations.
The airport bus in Tirstrup is timed to meet arriving flights and runs from the
airport to Aarhus city. Travel time 45 minutes. Price 50 DKK. The end station
for the bus from Tirstrup is Aarhus Central Train Station. The bus only stops
at the University upon request. You can also take a taxi from the airport, the
costs will be approx. 460 DKK.
From Billund buses leave regularly for Aarhus. Travel time 90 minutes. Price
120 DKK. The end station for the bus from Billund is Radisson Hotel and the
Music Hall.
The train station is located very close to several hotels (Ritz, Plaza,
Erikson, Radisson and a few minutes' walk to Atlantic). For the other hotels
the city buses leave from Banegårdspladsen and the neighbouring street -
Park Alle. Price 13.50 DKK.
Probably only a few participants will go by car. Most downtown hotels will have
their own parking facilities, but please check directly with your hotel. There
are only few parking spaces on campus and outside the Student House. If you
need advise as to where to park outside the campus, please contact the
secretariat.
