It is our goal to maintain our position as one of the top research centres in Europe within theoretical as well as experimental computer science. It is quite rare that a department is leading within both fields, and we want to take advantage of this position by increasing the number of cross-disciplinary activities.

The education of bachelor, master and PhD-students of high quality shall continue. The number of students is high, but we would like to increase it, preferably by attracting more women. More than 75 % of our students find a job within the IT industry in Denmark or abroad, and all our students are able to find employment. We will also continue to offer high quality supplementary education for IT professionals.

We want to increase the dissemination of information on our research by participating in radio and television programmes, articles in the written media as well as by organizing arrangements for primary and secondary schools, high-schools and the public.

A considerable number of committees are responsible for our politics within different areas, and we want to maintain our reputation of being a good and flexible place to work, where employees have influence on their working conditions enabling them to take part in the daily decisions.

A slow but continual increase in the number of employees shall consolidate our position. Over a period of 10 years the number of permanent scientific members of staff should increase by 10, at least, half of them preferably from other institutions.
