How to Get a Design/CPN License

Please note that it is sufficient to have one license for each organisation. Hence, you should use the list of Organisations with Design/CPN License to check whether your organisation already has a license.

To get a Design/CPN license you need the Design/CPN Sublicense Agreement Form which is available as a PDF file (Portable Document Format). To access the form you have to install the free Acrobat Reader software (version 2.1 or later).

  1. Install the Acrobat Reader software version 2.1 (this will also be useful when you need to access the Design/CPN documentation).
  2. Download the Design/CPN Sublicense Agreement Form. If your organisation is a US governmental agency or is obtaining any Licensor material under this Agreement pursuant to a US government contract you need to use a Special Sublicense Agreement Form.
  3. Print the Sublicense Agreement Form (from the Acrobat Reader).
  4. Add the necessary information about your organisation (name, address, contact person, etc.) at the top of the form.
  5. Make sure that the form is signed by an appropriate person from your organisation at the bottom of the form.
  6. Mail the form to us BY SURFACE OR AIR MAIL (a fax/email/... is not sufficient since we need the original signature). Keep a copy for your own records.
  7. Send us an e-mail with a machine readable copy of the information which you added to the top of the forms (name, address, contact person, etc.). Also tell us which hardware platform you expect to use (Sun Sparc, Macintosh, and/or Linux Intel PCs).
The form should be sent to:
        Kurt Jensen
        Department of Computer Science
        University of Aarhus
        IT-parken, Aabogade 34
        DK-8200 Aarhus N
        Denmark
The e-mail should be sent to:
        designCPN-support@daimi.au.dk
with subject field:
        Design/CPN License Request
When we receive the signed form we will send you an e-mail explaining how to download the Design/CPN software from our FTP server. All the documentation (manuals, tutorials, examples, etc.) is freely available and can be downloaded from the Design/CPN WWW pages without having a license.
