From: Kurt Jensen To: designCPN@daimi.au.dk Date: Wed, 1 Sep 1999 15:55:35 +0200 Subject: Detailed Programme for Coloured Petri Nets'99 Dear Colleagues, A detailed programme for the Second Workshop and Tutorial on Practical Use of Coloured Petri Nets and Design/CPN October 11-15, 1999 is now available on the Web-pages: http://www.daimi.au.dk/CPnets/workshop99/ It is too late to submit papers for the proceedings. However, it is still possible to present talks and posters as part of the Work in Progress session Wednesday afternoon. People who want to give a talk in this session should send a 1-page abstract to CPNworkshop@daimi.au.dk before September 20. The talk will be listed in the workshop programme. The deadline for registration is September 20. The fee is around 225 US $. This covers participation in the full 5-day programme, a copy of the proceedings, five lunches, and the workshop dinner. In 1998 there were 50 participants from 11 different countries. The event takes place at the University of Aarhus and it consists of the following: Monday ====== An advanced tutorial aimed at engineers, students and researchers who already have some experience with the use of Coloured Petri Nets and Design/CPN. The tutorial will provide the participants with a toolbox of useful tips, tricks, techniques, and working practices for the development of large-scale CPN models. Tuesday ======= 1999 is the 20 year anniversary of Coloured Petri Nets and the 10 year anniversary of Design/CPN. Hence, we use Tuesday to take a "historic perspective" of Coloured Petri Nets and their tools. The morning session will be opened by a talk by Carl Adam Petri on "The Origin of Net Theory" Wednesday-Friday ================ The 3-day workshop will present an array of projects in which Coloured Petri Nets and their tools have been put to practical use -- often in an industrial setting. There are also papers which describe extensions of Coloured Petri Nets and extensions of their tool support. Finally there is an invited talk by Carl Adam Petri with the title "From Basic Nets to Continuous Modelling".
