From: Kurt Jensen To: designCPN@daimi.au.dk Date: Thu, 8 Oct 1998 14:01:36 +0200 Subject: Design/CPN no longer supported on Macintosh DESIGN/CPN NO LONGER SUPPORTED ON THE MACINTOSH PLATFORM The Design/CPN User Survey (May 1998) showed that the interest in the Macintosh platform is rather limited: QUESTION: On which platforms do you most frequently use the tool? Sun Solaris: 64 % Linux PC: 42 % Macintosh: 13 % QUESTION: Which platform would you prefer to use in the future? Sun Solaris: 33 % MS Windows: 33 % Linux PC: 31 % Macintosh: 4 % Other: 5 % Hence, we have decided to discontinue development on the Macintosh platform (which is very time consuming since a large PART of the source code is totally different from the code used on the Unix platforms). It is of course still possible to use the old Design/CPN 3.0 on the Macintosh platform. However, we strongly recommend that all Macintosh users as soon as possible shift to one of the other platforms. We no longer support the Macintosh platform, and hence we will not be able to assist if you have problems.
